Answers about templates, sizing, pricing, manufacturability, and downloads.
Getting started
How do I build a box?
How do I build a box?
Go to Templates, pick a category and design, then enter your dimensions and quantity in the builder.
What does “parametric” mean?
What does “parametric” mean?
Parametric templates are driven by variables (like L/W/H, flap size, board thickness). When you change a variable, the dieline and 3D preview update automatically.
Do you require minimum order quantities?
Do you require minimum order quantities?
No. PackWorks supports on-demand manufacturing — order one box or thousands.
Templates & files
What’s the difference between Packsize categories and EZD templates?
What’s the difference between Packsize categories and EZD templates?
Packsize categories are designs downloaded from your Packsize inventory.
EZD templates are root parametric templates stored under
public/templates/.Can I download the dieline files?
Can I download the dieline files?
Yes. After ingestion, template assets (like
.ezd and previews) are stored under public/templates/.Why do some templates have multiple EZD files?
Why do some templates have multiple EZD files?
Some designs ship as a set (e.g., sleeve + inner tray). The category view lists all available files.
Sizing & materials
What units are used?
What units are used?
Units depend on the template and your configuration (commonly inches). The builder displays unit context where available.
Do dimensions refer to internal or external size?
Do dimensions refer to internal or external size?
Most templates are configured around internal (usable) dimensions, but it depends on the design. If a template provides “inner/outer” guidance, follow that; board thickness and folds can affect outer size.
What about corrugate thickness / board grade?
What about corrugate thickness / board grade?
Many templates include a thickness variable (often
FT). Changing it updates the fold geometry and can change manufacturability constraints.Manufacturing & validation
What does “manufacturability” mean in the builder?
What does “manufacturability” mean in the builder?
The builder checks for constraints like minimum panel sizes, fold collisions, and geometry issues. If you see a warning, adjust dimensions or try the “auto-fix” suggestion where available.
Why did my design fail or look wrong after changing a variable?
Why did my design fail or look wrong after changing a variable?
Some variable combinations are geometrically invalid (e.g., flaps larger than panels). Reduce extreme values, verify thickness, and watch the 2D preview for overlaps.
Pricing & SKUs
How is pricing calculated?
How is pricing calculated?
Pricing updates live based on template, dimensions, material variables, and quantity. If you need a special quote, use the contact options.
Can I save a configuration as a SKU?
Can I save a configuration as a SKU?
Yes—once the SKU flow is enabled in your account, you’ll be able to save and reorder common sizes easily.
Shipping & lead time
What are typical lead times?
What are typical lead times?
Most custom boxes are produced within 24–48 hours after order confirmation. Rush options may be available.
Do you ship nationwide?
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. Shipping options depend on destination and order size.
